Try an avocado and watermelon salad for a delish light snack or appetizing side dish. Watermelon is also rich in vitamins and nutrients beneficial for the skin so this mixture would definitely be perfect as a skin pick me up.  Super easy and quick to do! All you need is to mix slices of avocado, feta or fresh goat cheese, watermelon and cucumber.  Add salt and pepper to taste and some mint for an extra refreshing flavor!

Green tea is full of antioxidants and great for your complexion

Considered a “wonder drink”, green tea is fully packed with nutrients and antioxidants that help the skin (and body, in general) stay healthy and strong. It has exquisite properties that promote cell repair – a crucial process that the skin needs for it experiences damage daily.

Try a soothing cup of hot green tea with cinnamon and ginger instead of a coffee first thing in the morning.  This drink gives you a healthy boost of energy as it frees your body from toxins thanks to its rich antioxidant content. You only need to add hot water to your cup of green tea, a quarter teaspoon of minced ginger and one cinnamon stick for extra spice. To add sweetness to your drink, you may add a tablespoon of honey.

Fermented foods (Yogurt, Sauerkraut, Kimchi) boost your immune system and are great for skin health

The process of fermentation involved in making yoghurt, sauerkraut, kimchi) makes the food develop a good amount of probiotics, also known as ‘healthy bacteria’. Probiotics boost our body’s immune system and also helps skin cells develop a stronger barrier to protect itself against damage. Try introducing a fermented food into your diet at least twice a week.  Great for the gut and for your skin!

Tomatoes are a super source of vitamins and one of the best foods for skin

Tomatoes are abundant in antioxidants and high in vitamins which all help with cell repair.  There are so many ways to enjoy tomatoes! For something healthy and scrumptious for dinner, try stuffed tomatoes with quinoa rice and herbs. Just mix herbs like rosemary, dried parsley, brussels sprouts and golden flax seeds, along with your cooked quinoa and stuff it in the tomatoes. Bake them in the oven for 20 minutes and they’re ready to go!
